PROCOLCACAO were formally constituted in Bogotá – Colombia in September 2011 under the impetus of some people dedicated to the study and knowledge of growing, harvesting, processing and marketing of cacao in Colombia and all over the world.

PROCOLCACAO established strategic alliances with different producer organizations across the country, and maintains commercial arrangements to market high-quality cacao with excellent qualifications. Highlighted in this context, we do mention of producer organizations in the departments of Santander – municipality of El Carmen -, Arauca – Saravena – and more recently in the valley of the Patia River in the departament of Cauca. We eventually hopes to incorporate producers of Cundinamarca, Boyaca and southern Bolivar, and finally to include the vast majority of cacao producers from Colombia. Before five years to work with a total of 3,500 producers it is expected.

PROCOLCACAO has started export business to place those excellent grains produced in Colombia. Currently participates successfully at the national cacao market offering premium quality products, coming to manage selected buyers who recognize the premium quality of cacao and accept to pay differential prices. In the foreign market, differentiated prices to promote the improvement of quality, well life for farmers, and automation of post-harvest processes are also sought.
